THAT LEOPARD BAG IS AMAZING. I'm glad you broke the no buy for it.
What is a quote you live by? You already know, babe. "I don't think you should ever have to apologize for your excitement. Just because something's cliche doesn't mean it's not awesome."
Describe one moment of joy from this week. Watching my pup want snuggles from my husband for the first time since his major back surgery brought tears to my eyes.
What is your packing style? A chronic overpacker or underpacker? Carryon or checked bag? Weeks in advance or hours before? Dish! I am a chronic overpacker who is desperately trying to be an underpacker, but I usually only pack an hour or two in advance which makes it a bit challenging (oops). I usually check a bag because my dog becomes my carry-on, but if I fly without him, always carry-on.
What would be in your personal care package? The latest book by Laura Piper Lee (SO cute and funny), Aesop soap, Palais des thés tea.
I love these posts! And that leopard bag is gorgeous and definitely worth breaking the no buy for.
The quote I live by(ish) is ”You know you’re in love when you can’t fall asleep, because reality is finally better than your dreams” by Dr. Seuss. I think it’s so romantic. A moment of joy from this week was just gossiping with my friends for like half an hour. Free therapy!
I always fly budget airlines so I’m a pretty barebones packer. I roll and compress everything to extremes, lol. I am indecisive as to what to bring though, which is always a wrench in the mix.
For the personal care package, I love this question first of all, and my book would be The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid (my comfort book) + Glow Recipe watermelon drops (like fruit on my skin) + Swedish punschrullar (chocolate marzipan bars, basically.)
That leopard bag will fit in perfectly in Paris! You'll see by yourself, but that print is all over the city.
Currently reading "Maybe You Should Talk To Someone" by Lori Gottlieb and it's phenomenal, about therapy. My quote of the week would be: "What are we so afraid of? It's not as if we're going to peer in those darker corners, flip on the light, and find a bunch of cockroaches. Fireflies love the dark too. There's beauty in these places. But we have to look in there to see it."
1. "Never be so clever you forget to be kind" - Taylor Alison Swift
2. My dog napped on my chest while I was relaxing on the couch on Sunday evening 🥲
3. I make a packing list weeks in advance (keep adding to it as I remember things), but I put the items into the suitcase (normally just a carry on) the day before I leave! I aim to make things easy for myself on the trip so I try not to overpack by laying out outfits before putting them in my suitcase. I try to make as many ensembles as I can. And then upon my return, the laundry I have to wash is less overwhelming 😂
4. A quintessential rom com, some Crabtree & Evelyn hand therapy (for my chronically dry hands), and a chocolate cupcake with vanilla buttercream frosting!
All I can say is I COVET your Clare V. I wore my first purchase (the grande fanny in zig zag black and white check!) to your signing in Naperville and have been drooling over your exact bag for ages. Thanks for giving a shout out to the resale; I will now be stalking it forever (or until another greeeeeeen beauty becomes available for me!). Have a lovely honeymoon!!
Ahhhh thank you so much for coming to the Naperville signing! That night was so memorable for me. Discovering the resale was CLUTCH. I couldn't be more delighted with it.
One quote (of many!!) that I love: "What is for you will not pass you."
I costumed a play that just opened last week and our first review made specific mention of the style and intentionality of my work! :)))))
My packing style in the past has been to WAAAAY overpack, to the point where many items go unworn. I'm also often frustrated because I find myself wanting to re-wear certain things and then feeling guilty. HOWEVER, I worked really hard to reanalyze this pattern, and last summer I went to Europe for 3 weeks in just a carry-on! I was SO PROUD of myself for not only packing super efficiently in a way that all the things recombined and went together, but I actually wore every single item that I brought with me!!! Like you said: I mentally "packed" for MONTHS and then physically packed everything the day before I left.
My personal care package would be a citrus-y hand lotion, a perfect plain croissant, and a copy of The Little Paris Bookshop.
My quote is “In a world where you can be anything, be kind.”
My moment of joy - I pulled into my neighborhood today after work on an unseasonably warm and sunny day to be greeted by my nine year old daughter scootering around with complete abandon, savoring the sunshine. She is the best and seeing her be happy and active heals a part of my inner self. She is living the life that I want for her.
My packing style depends completely on airline vs car travel, but I lean towards overpacking. As a plus sized person, I can’t rely on finding any emergency clothing in stores, so I tend to over prepare.
My latest book bundle? Knowing that this is for making someone feel better, I’d go with anything by Ali Hazelwood, Glass Skin by Peach & Lily and a chocolate croissant.
A quote I live by is “be who you needed when you were younger.” I’ve tried to find the attribution but I first saw it on instagram/pinterest so it’s been challenging to find!
A moment of joy this week was getting to a book that’s been on my TBR for ages - The Favorites by Layne Fargo - it was full of twists and turns and it was so fun to liveblog my reactions to my book besties who had all read it before.
I tend towards overpacking although I’ve gotten a lot better at it. I used to take a backpack full of books everywhere and now I have my kindle (!) I bounce back and forth between carry-on and checked bag. My brother works for an airline and my dad gets benefits from him, including two free checked bags so I default towards checked bag when I travel with him. As for when I pack, it’s almost always the day before but like you, I think about outfits for a while!
And for my personal care package, I’d say In Memoriam by Alice Winn, cleanser, and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. Croissants are a close second choice but sometimes variable!
Thank you for being a fan of this format! I'm so glad it's as much fun for you guys to read as it is for me to write. The joy of a win/win. And I have a friend begging me to read that book! *adds to list*

Coming back to this comment a few days in now from Paris and WOW! I really am seeing leopard bags *everywhere*. You were so right!

4. Book: the invisible life of addie LaRue
Product: Clinique dramatically different moisturizing lotion
Treat: definitely a cinnamon roll 🤗

Loved this article! And loved the new purses! I would like to try to add a splash of edgy to my style game as well and this gives me good inspo.
So glad to hear it, Liz! Thanks for reading.
I really love these notepad posts!
