I’m home for the longest stretch of time since Taylor Swift Style was published. Six days of sleeping in my own bed. What a luxury!
Giving myself a moment to breathe in between writing this newsletter on planes and from hotel rooms, I’m grateful to be putting the final touches on it from my living room floor. I’m surrounded by the contents of my travel essentials. Zippered pouches and tech cases and an assortment of other things are currently in the process of sprawling out from its zippered luggage confines. It’s like I’ve thrown a large stone in the middle of my carry-on and its contents are rippling out in waves from its plunge point. The last few weeks have been a half in/half out lifestyle of never quite fully unpacking and rotating a curated edit of street clothes and event outfits into and out of my luggage with careful precision. I’m grateful to get to live this way for even a brief shard of time because it’s in support of a dream that a tinier version of me once dismissed as unrealistic and out of reach. The things I’d tell her now are innumerable. But let me know if you think it’s worth telling you what my travel essentials are in great detail.
I truly had the best time coming up with outfits to support this book tour. When it came to ideating outfits for these stops, I wanted to create a true, evolutionary slideshow of Taylor’s changing fashion through the eras.
Given that Taylor Swift Style is all about a journey through the eras, it made sense to me to go through a journey of my own through the affiliated wardrobe choices for each tour date. I decided that I wanted to dress in my own, subtle take on some of the iconic fashion of each era and render it in a TSS-approved gree(eeeeeeee)n colourway. Natch. This was my nod to Taylor and her style, but done (Sarah’s Version) - if you will. A note that fashion is subjective and always up for loose, personal interpretations. This is what I decided I wanted to take away from each era, while still feeling some semblance of my most true DNA self in each ‘fit.

🎁 Gifting: I paid for nearly everything you will see below. Most pieces were either already existent in my wardrobe or that I bought with my own money. I did, however, have a very wonderful partnership opportunity come through with Larroudé and Liberty Boot Co— two brands that Taylor herself has worn and loved. I will note their gifted items seen throughout with a *. Thank you for supporting the brands that support TSS!
1️⃣ Part I: You can check out the first instalment of the tourdrobe series in the past newsletter below!
Nashville / Debut: My intention for this tour was dressing using the dates as a chronological map of Taylor’s discography. To really capture that “journey through the eras” feel. But, as I mentioned in my post covering Part I of this tourdrobe, I specifically was hoarding a debut-inspired outfit for Nashville. And here she is! Taylor’s fashion during debut was one of her most iconic formulaically. A sundress + cowboy boots = debut fashion. Simple, memorable, and endlessly easy to replicate. The ruffles on the dress felt particularly sweet and reminiscent of the kinds that would often adorn the BCBG dresses Taylor favoured from that time period.
