The last few years, fandom fashion has exploded. I like to think it’s a joyful bounce back from the isolation of the pandemic, a time period where getting dressed became optional for many of us. Now, it seems just about any occasion is enough cause to celebrate with an outfit.
Of course, concert costumes aren’t new. Especially not for this fandom. I can fondly remember wearable teacups that fans built out of papier mâché, strung with twinkly lights, and wore to Speak Now Tour dates. The hope being that this sparkling, wearable drinkware would translate into an invitation to the post-show meet and greet with Taylor dubbed ‘T Party’.
But the popularity of fandom ‘fits at these shows has certainly hit a new high. So much so, we’ve even transformed going to see this tour in movie theatres into an event worthy of donning our best and most bejeweled.
So for that same thought process to also extend to a book tour about Taylor’s fashion has meant the world. I love that this book has found an audience of people who believe in the power of fashion and how we can use it with intention and care to express our interests and celebrate our passions. At every single stop on this tour, I would be greeted by a sea of green outfits and TSS Exacts. And even, bewildering as it is for me to type this, Sarah Exacts! At multiple stops on this tour, I found myself - eyes aglitter - saying aloud, “Ooo! This! *points up and down* I would copy + paste.” Only to be met with by many shy, knowing smiles and a bashful nod that that had been their goal all along. To not only dress in honour of Taylor and the fashion evolution this book celebrates, but to nod to my personal style as author of this book. My heart! It simply refuses to be still!
Below is a roundup of 10 incredible looks that TSSers wore to the Taylor Swift Style book tour and the stories behind them that made all my vertical plane naps worth it.

AMANDA
Tour City: Nashville, TN
The Outfit: I chose this Free People dress because it was a TSS Exact that I learned about from your blog, in a colorway with a name that references Taylor’s music (Fairytale). I accessorized with these Betsey Johnson western style boots as a reference to Nashville and Taylor’s debut roots here (Editor’s Note: The rhinestone stars are also a great shade that align with debut teal! - Sarah). I also liked that the stars and headband were “bejeweled”. The addition of the patterned tights (plaid, for fall) were because they’re a Taylor staple.
STEPHANIE
Tour City: Washington, D.C.
The Outfit: I wanted to go for a “recipe” look similar to Taylor’s Chiefs outfits variations - incorporating a pleated mini skirt and corset top. There were also a lot of sentimental, thoughtful pieces scattered throughout this outfit. I wore the Jennifer Zeuner ‘Tasha’ hoop and chain earrings - my first Taylor exact purchase that led me to Taylor Swift Style (Editor’s Note: I am also twinning wearing those exact earrings here! Funnily enough, this was entirely an accident as I forgot to swap my dedicated “signing” earrings in - but I love the matching invisible string effect of it - Sarah). The Louis Vuitton bag, which Taylor and Blake wore last summer, is the “crown jewel” of my Taylor exacts collection. It *had* to make an appearance! It also has a fun story of being purchased tax free at the Dubai airport while on an important work trip in my career. Finally, I wore the Reformation ‘Lolita’ platform loafers and black socks, from Taylor’s October 22, 2023 Arrowhead Stadium appearance. The tops were a layered Farm Rio mesh shirt and Reformation corset top to mimic Taylor’s style using items already in my closet.
SUSIE
Tour City: Washington, D.C.
The Outfit: I definitely put more intent behind my outfit for this book signing than I have for any other book signing I’ve been to! I wanted to wear something that was a nod to both Taylor’s fashion and Sarah’s style and style commentary, since this was a celebration of the author, after all. My personal style tends to lean towards more classic, Ralph Lauren inspired pieces, so I started thinking of Taylor outfits that could serve as inspo. I was thinking of Taylor’s navy (or black?) sweater, plaid skirt, and tights she wore while out with Joe in NYC near the Midnights release in 2022 (though she has several plaid skirt moments to choose from!) and decided to plan my outfit around a houndstooth skirt. I wore chunky black loafers, also as a nod to Taylor, and initially planned to wear a black sweater to incorporate a sandwich style moment in honor of Sarah, but decided to go with a green sweater (read: greeeeeeen) for obvious reasons (and also because it worked well with brown and green checks in the houndstooth skirt pattern). I secretly hoped it was an outfit Sarah would copy and paste, which came to fruition when at the signing she complimented my outfit! (Editor’s Note: I absolutely told her IRL that this is an outfit I would copy + paste. - Sarah)
BRITTANY
Tour City: Nashville, TN
The Outfit: I wanted something comfortable but “giving Easter Eggs” and nods to Taylor lore. Ultimately, I went with my OG folklore cardigan, with friendship bracelets/ring I made for my Eras Tour date! (Nashville N2 and N3!) I also made my charm necklace and one of the charms features “All Too Well” lyrics from a small business I love called Jo and Co Goods!
GRACE
Tour City: Naperville, IL
The Outfit: Obviously knew I had to pay homage to Sarah and TSS with the green element. I wore a greeeeeeen maternity dress (I'm 6 months postpartum but just can't resist the comfort of maternity clothes, and this particular one was very TSS on-brand!) and VRAI diamond earrings to dress it up and offset the "tired mom" vibes. The VRAI linked tennis earrings are a TSS Exact, and have a cute story behind them. My husband gifted them to my when my daughter was born with this very thoughtful explanation: She was born in April and diamonds are April's gemstone, the earrings have 4 diamonds cascading down (she's the 4th member of our family), AND the kicker -- he knows I love and follow TSS and did his research to find a TSS exact. A little extra "SURPRISE! Taylor wore these recently to the Chief's game!" element to an immensely sentimental and sweet gift. (Editor’s Note: The number of Partners of TSSers who came through the signing lines, ready and delighted to take photos who said they were fans of TSS too because it gave them an easily accessible ‘shopping portal’ to use as an ongoing, constantly updated gift guide the TSSers in their lives warmed my heart. TSS out here changing lives and saving holidays/birthdays/gifting occasions for all! - Sarah)
LAURA
Tour City: Seattle, WA
The Outfit: Oh man. I would love to have worn a great many things, possibly even my Eras Tour fit (2019 VMAs award show ‘fit) or other TSS Exacts or merch. However, needing to bring the baby meant a mom bun, top that opens in the front, and no accessories that baby can grab. The outfit I came up with was the Free People velvet dress a la Long Pond, but in greeeeeeen, and Melinda Maria spike studs in silver. To keep it ‘mom’ friendly I paired it with a nursing tank top, baby carrier, baby, leggings, and comfy boots. So despite the challenge, I still managed two TSS Exact/adjacent pieces, and was able to nurse my baby in the stacks during your talk. Sorry I have no real good fit pics! Just attending was an accomplishment. (Editor’s Note: Every single thing about this is badass. I’m so grateful that you came. - Sarah)
ALEXIS
Tour City: Nashville, TN
The Outfit: I wore chunky loafers, a sheer & crushed velvet top, the Midnights cardigan, an Henri Bendel ‘Jetsetter’ bag in black and of course Taylor’s NARS lipstick. I chose the loafers because they felt very "Taylor". Also, how crazy is it that I found them out thrifting the day of the event?! The Morocco NARS lippy, because obviously, we're all obnoxiously obsessed with the FINALLY leaked Taylor lip color. The Midnights cardigan just felt right because it's brand new. I wanted an excuse to wear it. I also brought my Jetsetter because I had just messaged you about your bag a week prior, and decided to buy it in black because that's my signature color at this point!
CIARA
Tour City: Studio City, CA
The Outfit: Since my stop was Los Angeles and the 7th stop on tour, I wanted to go with a Lover-themed outfit. And I happened to have the most exacts from the Lover era! (Editor’s Note: The invisible string continues its maximum stringiness! I never really ‘advertised’ my own personal methodology to my tour date dressing, but Ciara tapped into it with zero prompting. Obsessed! - Sarah) I wore the Free People dress that Taylor wore in 2019 twice (first in a video with Todrick Hall on his birthday and then during Lover promo). I paired it with the heart earrings she wore on Instagram live during Lover promo and a heart friendship bracelet from Madewell that a fan gave her during Lover events.
SARAH
Tour City: Brooklyn, NY
The Outfit: I know Sarah loves green so had to do a nod to her fave, and then wanted to wear some Taylor swift merch because duh! To bring it all together, I wore my folklore cardigan and a Taylor Eras sweatshirt and a green skirt!
RACHEL
Tour City: Kansas City, MO
The Outfit: I wore a green look inspired by Taylor Swift's 2019 performance of “Lover” on Saturday Night Live. At the time Taylor delivered this SNL performance, I hadn't really identified as a Swiftie yet. I liked her radio hit music over the years but I didn't follow her at all, I hadn't heard about her new album Lover, and honestly she just wasn't on my radar. But I saw this performance and I was just awestruck. The magical set with the piano and flying papers, the flirty delivery of her vocals - stripped down and raw, and of course she was wearing my favorite color, green. I thought to myself how DIFFERENT she looked and sounded (rep era Taylor was the last public image I remembered of her) and so I was moved to Google her outfit. Especially to get an ID on her fun earrings. I stumbled across a little blog called Taylor Swift Style. I started following the blog, going down the rabbit hole of Taylor and her fashion eras, which quickly pulled me into the larger fandom as a whole. So I like to say that Sarah and TSS was what made me a Swiftie! (Well ... that and TS also gave a sultry rendition of “False God” that night and I never looked back).
How absolutely incredible did everyone look?! Thank you so much to these TSSers for not only coming to one of these events and dressing with such care, but taking the time to share the behind-the-seams (heh) of their choices.
2️⃣ If you came to a TSS book tour date, I’d love to hear about what you wore for a future second instalment. Please share what you wore in this Google Form.
