The looks that told a story and the looks that just looked good

Awards season! I was watching looks roll in from the Golden Globes red carpet over the weekend, making notes of my personal favourites to document in a recap. But the thing that was top of mind for me was intention.

I’ve always hoped that with TSS we take the opportunity to delight in the beauty of fashion and the seriousness of its art form, but that we also consider it as an intentional method of expression. The medium of fashion being used to communicate a message is, I hope, at the heart of TSS’ legacy in how we view looks that come down a red carpet. Sure, something might look great - but what is it trying to say?

Below are the looks that captured my attention most on the red carpet because of the stories they told. (Alright with some bonus looks at the end of my personal favourites - shhh!)
